I was cleaning out my phone and found this little gem. Anya went through a very brief Nutcracker phase.
Here we see her very earnestly doing ballet some time around Christmas with brief cameos by the dogs and Mom.

Anya's Gymastic Check in
Anya and I were left alone this week as Amy gallivanted around Oahu with Andrea. One of my duties as a single dad was to go to little gym to work while Anya took gym class. Unbeknownst to me it was parent day so we all got to come and watch the kids put on a show for us. Here are some choice moments from the session.
Make sure to notice the coquettish pose at the beginning, which she did no apparent reason, and the full flip she does after she dismounts.
This one is pretty silly but it does show that Anya is the jumpiest person in the class and doesn't follow directions particularly well.

Anya's Skiing Progress
As was mentioned earlier Anya and her friend Eloise have been taking skiing lessons. Here is a progression over 4 weeks (really 4 days of skiing)
Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
Day 3 #2
Day 3 #3
Day 4 #1
Day 4 #2
At the end of the 4th day I actually saw a kid flying down the hill, she took a jump then a little half forced jump. She seemed so strong and confident. I found myself wishing Anya could be that skier. Then I noticed the pink mittens and the purple jacket. It WAS Anya! I was so proud. Anya's instructor said she's really improved a lot. She's the explorer of the group, they send her ahead to test out the jumps and bumps. She's making daddy proud.
