Anya's birthDate: 10/29/2007

After two failed inductions, Amy's water suddenly broke while still at the hospital on October 29th. After 4.5 hours of (excruciating, but uneventful) labor, Anya Marie Lodwig was born. She is perfect. 10 fingers, 10 toes, and big bright eyes. Amy & Chris are so thrilled she's here!

My original due date was October 22nd (St. Anja’s Day in Finland) and then it changed to the 19th later on in the pregnancy.

The pregnancy itself wasn’t so enjoyable for me. I got morning sickness (all day sickness) starting at about week 7 and lasting until around the 6th month. Technically, I had hyperemesis. For a good while there, it was so bad that I was barely functional. I went to work, but spent a lot of time with my head on my desk. Fortunately I was prescribed an anti-emetic (Zofran) around the 4th month, which made the nausea more manageable and I somewhat got my life back.
Other than the hyperemesis, the pregnancy was normal. Even while sick, I managed to take long, brisk, daily walks right up until my due date.
Cravings and aversions
Aversions: At first, everything except cream of wheat and popsicles. Fish, for the entire pregnancy.
Cravings: fruit. Especially apples and grapes. Once I craved corndogs, but that was a terrible mistake and I never wanted to eat them again.
