While we really do appreciate Grandma and Grandpa Lodwig watching Anya so often, I am starting to worry that it's becoming a bit of an issue. We were just up there for our nearly weekly Sunday dinner, and pretty early on in the evening Anya started going from room to room trying to rally support for a sleep over.
As soon as all the decision makers were aligned, she started dropping hints that Amy and I should leave as soon as we could. Subtle suggestive statements such as: "You can go now", or the more gently worded: "Mommy and Daddy, leave now." Or the to-the-point: "Bye-bye".
While it breaks my heart a little to have our daughter dismiss us so, I think Amy also bares a bit of the responsibility. While she's still on the phone with Grandma accepting a dinner invitation, she begins stuffing a bag full of extra shoes, clothes and Elephant "Just in case".
